Proudly Making Tallahassee Beautiful For 68 Years
Since 1938 Tallahassee Nurseries has been a vital part of the Tallahassee Community. What started as only five acres of fresh produce, by Eugene R. Ellis, Sr. and his wife Ruth, has now grown into a fabulous garden experience, complete with a flower & gift shop, garden center and greenhouse!
With over 50 years combined experience working at Tallahassee Nurseries, it was a natural transition for Kevin Fluegge, Paul Brock and Nate Prosser to assume ownership in 2002. They currently provide work for 65 full- and part-time employees in the community, most of who are Florida Certified Nursery Professionals.
Tallahassee Nurseries’ employees have a long-standing relationship with various garden clubs, local schools, universities, city, and county agencies to assist in keeping Tallahassee beautiful. The Nursery also collaborates with Leon County Extension Service and local Master Gardeners in supporting a trial garden to develop information on annual and perennial varieties best suited to this area. Over the years, we’ve been able to bring local gardeners hundreds of varieties of new shrubs, trees, tropical indoor plants, bedding plants, bulbs and so much more. We look forward to many more years of doing our part to make Tallahassee an attractive, vibrant place to live.
We invite you to take a stroll down our brick walkways, listen to the soothing sound of splashing fountains, rest in a shaded courtyard or gazebo and enjoy Tallahassee Nurseries’ spectacular colorful gardens.
