The Baton Rouge Camellia Society will host an Education Session at the LSU Burden Center in combination with the American Camellia Society on Saturday, January 30th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

This event is part of the American Camellia Society’s Annual Convention to be held in Baton Rouge, LA this year. This event is also free and open to the public. In addition, this unique education session and panel discussion will be captured through live video streaming provided by the LSU AgCenter. The video stream can be found on the LSU AgCenter’s website at the following link: http://www.lsuagcenter.com/webstreams/CameliaShow.

Dr. David Creech’s banquet presentation “Who are all these children in my garden and why are they here?” will also be video streamed Saturday evening from 8:30 to 9:00pm. Note: This link will only steam live at the actual time of the event. A recorded video of the session will be available for viewing on the Burden Center website (www.lsuagcenter.com/webstreams/DavidCreech) within a few days after the event.


This session boasts the following experts: Dr. Dale Pollet of the LSU AgCenter, “Smart Control of Insects on Camellias”, Dr. Trent James, M.D. of the Baton Rouge Camellia Society, “A great win/win community outreach program for camellias clubs”, Dr. Donglin Zhang of the University of Maine, “Yellow Camellias in China”. These presentations will be followed by a panel discussion with Dr. Dale Pollet, Dr. Trent James, Dr. Donglin Zhang, Dr. David Creech of the Stephen F. Austin University and Mrs. Florence Crowder of the Baton Rouge Camellia Society and the Great American Gardens Preservation Alliance. This group of educators promises to knock your socks off!

This live video stream is a new innovative advancement in technology that the American Camellia Society will be participating in with its members. So, if you cannot come to the conference in Baton Rouge you can still see and hear the educational session speakers and the banquet speaker in real time by logging into this live video stream.
