Leadership in the American Camellia Society is open to all members in good standing. Please fill out the application below indicating the position(s) in which you are interested. All applications will be considered by the ACS Board Development Committee which qualifies and slates candidates for the positions to be filled. Please check the box or boxes for position(s) for which you are applying.

ACS Vice President– 2 Year Terms

ACS Secretary – 2 Year Term

ACS Treasurer – 2 Year Term

Atlantic Region Vice President– 3 Year Term*

Atlantic Region Director – 1 Position – 3 Year term

Gulf Region Director – 1 Position – 3 Year term

ACS Director-At-Large (Non-Regional) – 4 Positions – 3 Year Term for each position

*If you apply to be the Atlantic Region Vice President you MUST also apply to be an Atlantic Region Director OR you MUST presently be an Atlantic REgion Director with an unexpired term as of July 1, 2013.

Note: Any ACS member wishing to nominate another member for any opening may submit a letter of nomination by email to the Board Development Chairperson, Jim Campbell at - rivercamellia@bellsouth.net. However, to be considered, the nominee must complete and submit an application prior to the application deadline.

Note: The committee will review and qualify all applications before they are included on a state or regional ballot or submitted to the ACS Board as set forth in the ACS Bylaws, which are available on the ACS website.

To be considered applications must include:

1) Completed application form below including reference information. References may be contacted by the committee during the slating process.

2) Current resume (not to exceed 2 pages) that includes your volunteer and employment experience, including dates of positions held. Your resume can be attached in the box just above the "Submit" button.

3) Letter to the Board Development Committee (not to exceed 2 pages) in which you identify:

  • The position(s) for which you are applying
  • Examples of any experience pertaining to the responsibilities of the position(s) for which you are applying
  • A statement of why you are interested in the position(s)

This letter can be attached in the box just above the "Submit" button.

Applications received after the deadline will not be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

A candidate is responsible for ensuring the completed application is received by the deadline. Please keep a copy of your application and supporting information for your files. You should receive an email confirming receipt of your application within one week of delivery. If you do not receive confirmation, please contact the Chairperson at the telephone number listed below before the deadline.
